Sysmex NZ has ninety staff and is wholely owned subsidiary of Sysmex Corporation with the Head Office in Japan. Business Challenge Due to the challenges of the rapid growth phase, Dale Carnegie was engaged to partner alongside the management team to deal with key changes including : significant increases in staff levels, increased projects, improved communication technology, larger premises, international integration, creation of new specialised roles, more responsibility for all staff. Solution The Dale Carnegie team worked with the Management Team to conduct three needs assessment projects over a five year period. The Dale Carnegie Course was suggested to enhance the culture and futher develop leadership and coaching skills to breakthrough levels. Leadership Training for Managers was tailored in-house to provide management tools and the methodology that was starting to be embedded in the Company. The Leader in You workshop attended by all staff was offered to obtain consistency across the company and the buy-in to a shared vision. The High Impact Presentations Programme was attended by 20 key staff to improve customer facing expertise. This is the world's gold standard presentation course for those in senior management. Results "In the past we were able to grow our leaders and managers organically. i.e through trial and error gaining experience however this growth occurred over long periods of time. During this time of rapid growth we recognized that we needed to develop new leaders and managers as well as lift general communication skills to face the challenge of a multinational world. We decided that the Dale Carnegie organisation was the training partner to help us with this challenge. The following is a summary of our experiences with a number of the Dale Carnegie strategic processes, programmes and workshops. "The Dale Carnegie course : (57 Attendees) This is the key stone Dale Carnegie course. Thsi course introduces people to the principles of personal responsibility, self direction, people skills, leadership and communication. We have experienced dramatic breakthroughs with people moving from passive participation, to leadership within our organisation. Leadership for Managers : (29 Attendees) We have had excellent outcomes from the Leadership for Managers course, with a number of graduates now in management positions, but also non managers developing as leaders. Our experience has shown leadership is creating an environment that influences others to achieve the company's goals. High Impact Presentations (20 Attendees) This is an intensive two day course which involves developing and giving many presentations and coaching from the instructors and review of your performance on video. In today's world, everybody has a customer facing role. This course is excellent for boosting self confidence and presentation skills of staff. You do not have to be a sales person to learn on this course. We have put managers, technical people, project managers and others through this course." Vision Mission Workshop (11 Managers) High Performance Teams (60 staff) These workshops helped us create a new Vision/Mission Statement and lift the performance of our different teams. The Dale Carnegie methodology is now part of the culture and courses will be attended by new employees as they are engaged by Sysmex.
